En trois albums – Olympic (2016), Joshua (2019) et TEENAGERS (2023) – French 79 s’impose comme l’un des nouveaux visages de la French Touch. Avec des titres emblématiques comme Diamond Veins, Between the Buttons, Hometown ou Teenagers, Simon Henner crée un univers électronique singulier, inspiré autant de Satie et Jarre que de Air ou Daft Punk. Après plus de 100 dates à l’international, il revient travailler seul dans son studio marseillais, là où ont aussi germé ses projets Nasser, Husbands et ses productions pour Kid Francescoli (Moon, single de diamant).
Ses nombreuses expériences – BO de films, collaborations techno, remix pour Drive, relecture de Satie, création de bandes-son monumentales – nourrissent TEENAGERS, album consacré à l’adolescence, période clé où il découvre les sons qui le façonnent encore. L’enregistrement dans le studio de Jean-Michel Jarre et le mixage au mythique Miraval renforcent la dimension presque initiatique du projet.
Conçu comme un retour à la liberté et à l’émerveillement, TEENAGERS marque un nouveau cap dans son parcours. Alors que la tournée s’est achevée fin 2024 et qu’il prépare un quatrième album, French 79 choisit de repartir en clubs en 2025, pour retrouver l’essence d’un live brut, renouer avec la proximité du public et nourrir son inspiration.

Across three albums — Olympic (2016), Joshua (2019) and TEENAGERS (2023) — French 79 has established himself as one of the new leading figures of the French Touch. With emblematic tracks like Diamond Veins, Between the Buttons, Hometown, and Teenagers, Simon Henner has created a singular electronic universe, drawing inspiration from Satie and Jarre as much as from Air and Daft Punk. After more than 100 international shows, he returned to work alone in his Marseille studio, where his projects Nasser, Husbands, and his productions for Kid Francescoli (Moon, a diamond-certified single) also took shape.
His many experiences — film soundtracks, techno collaborations, a remix for Drive, reinterpretations of Satie, large-scale sound creations — all feed into TEENAGERS, an album dedicated to adolescence, the formative period during which he discovered the sounds that still shape him today. Recording in Jean-Michel Jarre’s studio and mixing at the legendary Miraval added an almost initiatory dimension to the project.
Designed as a return to freedom and youthful wonder, TEENAGERS marks a new milestone in his artistic journey. As the tour ended in late 2024 and he began working on a fourth album, French 79 chose to return to clubs in 2025 to reconnect with the raw essence of live performance, regain proximity with audiences, and fuel his inspiration.
